This splitwindow beetle left the factory in August of the year 1951 with direct export to Haarla Oy cy in Finland. It served its whole life till it was stored in a barn somewhere in the sixties. Real Fin VW enthusiasts found the car in early 2000 and pulled it out of the barn. The previous owner bought the car about 10 years ago and brought it ever single year to the Technical inspection for road approval, he claimed this is a very well driving and behaving car!
The necessary welding was performed by Finland’s master welder and professional Volkswagen builder Heikki Naapuri. The body was of the pan. Pan and lower parts of body was sandblasted, repair and painted. Heater channels was replaced. Original floorplates had necessary repairs. All performed in a very professional way.
Car runs original 6v and all wiring is new. Semaphores, lights and all other electrics works fine. Speedo and clock are correct and works nice. All the original split window stuff is there. Albert mirrors and Hella brake light are originals.
But the best has yet to come. The interior of this car is the original one! All complete with all original upholstery. This must give an uptempo heartbeat to any split enthusiast.
Engine is an industrial 30Din Hp (36 SAE to from sixties water pump with almost no hours) and runs great. It has oval transmission (half synchronized) with barndoor nosecone. It drives really like blast! A real cool cruiser!
Front axle is Grubenswerk 2" narrowed and adjustable with dropped spindles. Brakes are from the sixties. This baby is shot with first production run BBT GT sprintstars. The most wanted dark grey version.
Front fenders are original, the rear fenders are reproduction. And the passenger lower door hinge might need some attention. That’s about the only negative we can tell.
Check the pictures carefully, we try to show the car as good and honest as we can. But, we would be happy to invite You personally for a personal inspection and to really feel how good this baby drives. Contact us now for more information.
